Bruce anchor was created at the beggining of the 1970's by the Bruce Anchor Group as an alternative the CQR/Plow anchors. Original Bruce Anchor is not available now, just copies.It holds well in most bottoms, but performs less in sand and mud. It also has a reputation for not breaking out during wind/tide changes as originally made of one piece design. A disadvantage, sometimes, this anchor is difficult to stow.
